Modeled after the Bratislava Castle in the owners' native Czechoslovakia, Sand Castle Winery produces wines using Old World techniques. During each of the Sand Castle three tours — the Barrel Tour, the VIP Tour and the Cellar Tour where you’ll descend more than 30 feet below ground — oenophiles and new wine fans alike can sip and sample while experiencing the winery’s daily activities.
If a tour isn’t on your agenda, select your favorite wine, order some hors d’oeuvres from the winery’s kitchen and settle onto the terrace overlooking the picturesque vineyards in the Bucks County countryside.
COME PREPARED
There is a fee for tours of the winery and the wine cellars but sampling the wine is free. Be sure to bring ID because they do card. And you can bring the pup but he can only go as far as the vineyards.
DON'T MISS
Visitors can hunt for St. Martin grapes, said to have magical powers, enjoy music, entertainment, sample wine and roast hot dogs and marshmallows at the annual Bonfire Celebration, the second weekend in November.
